NOTE: Later chapters in the story are mature in rating. Once mature chapters are posted, a mature warning will be stated in my post.

Prologue[/center]
“What a stupid lamb…”[/i]
The words echoed in my mind, repeating over and over, like a bad nightmare. I didn’t jolt, though. No, I stayed still as everything around me seemed to slow. It was almost as if I was going at super-speed, but I couldn’t keep up with the impeded pace of everything.
Swallowing hard, I lifted my head up, slowly, reluctantly, and looked across the room at the thin crack where light seeped through from under the door. I felt the bindings within me give as a tear streamed from my eye and dripped onto my hand.
“Yes,” more words of my past echoed through my mind, “but this lion is just as stupid for falling in love with the lamb.”
More tears streamed down my cheeks at the memory of her lying lips pressed gently to my own. Lies, lies, lies. The word kept repeating in my mind. The anger rose in my chest. Everything seemed to close in on me.
I clenched my fists and screamed, but not from the anger that was overwhelming me. A pain was overwhelming me as my entire body changed form; my bones cracked as they grew and twisted into a completely different form. I could feel my jaw elongating and my canines growing into saber teeth. I hit my fist against the wall behind me, groaning as I slowly tried to pull myself to my feet.
My skin, now nearly as transparent as glass, didn’t frighten me. I had already grown accustomed to this part of myself. The pain wasn’t over just yet, and I had a muscle spasm that sent me to the floor. My body, now drenched in sweat, seemed too heavy and painful to lift. It took all of my energy just to turn my head towards the little bit of light that was seeping through my door.
My breathing was short and raspy, and my mouth just seemed all too dry, but the pain had finally ended.
Just as I noticed a girl standing in my doorway. No, I thought, but the words I wanted to say wouldn’t come out of my mouth. In their place came a low growl, and she ran.
Despite how badly I wanted to get up and go after her; to assure her that everything was fine and that I wasn’t what I appeared to be, I couldn’t. I was too tired to get up and find where she went. Too tired to get up and assure her that I wasn’t the monster I looked to be.
